Stony Point Rock Quarry has provided construction-grade aggregate and soil products to consumers and contractors in Sonoma County for over 100 years.
In the late 1800s Stony Point Rock Quarry was located on Petersen Road, west of its current location. It was known for providing marble-like blocks for building construction in Sonoma and Marin counties, including the County Courthouse in Santa Rosa, the Miller Block at Main & Washington Street in Petaluma, the Phoenix Block on Main Street in Sebastopol, and the Catholic Church in Tomales.
In the 1900s the quarry was relocated to its current home on Stony Point Road. Since that time, materials mined from this location have been crushed and used primarily in the construction industry for roadways, drainage, and rip rap stabilization.
In 1987, Soiland Company, ran by founder Marv Soiland, became sole-owner of the quarry after a long career in the local construction industry. Today, Soiland Company and Stony Point Rock Quarry are family owned and operated by the second generation of the Soiland family. Marv’s son, Mark Soiland, serves as president.
To make a wider selection of aggregate materials and soil products available to Sonoma County residents and contractors, Soiland Company expanded its family to included Grab N’ Grow Soil Products in Santa Rosa and Soils Plus in Sonoma. All three of our locations are happy to serve both homeowners and contractors alike, please call or visit any of our locations for more information on how we can help you complete your next project.
