Company News, February 2014—Stony Point Rock Quarry and Soiland Company are proud to announce that we have joined the GO LOCAL organization of Sonoma County. If you’re not aware, GO LOCAL is a cooperative network of locally-owned businesses, residents, non-profit organizations, and government agencies working together to build a resilient, thriving, local economy by supporting independently owned businesses in Sonoma County.
The goal of GO LOCAL is to encourage residents to consciously support their local economy by choosing to shop and spend with local companies. When you choose to shop at local Sonoma County businesses you are helping retain and support local jobs and revenue. Be smart about your local economy and invest in those companies which locally serve you.
You might be thinking, “This sounds great, but can I really make a difference?” Yes you can! Here’s an example from GO LOCAL’s website: The average Sonoma County household spends slightly more than $60,000 a year on goods and services. If all of that were spent with local goods and services providers, then an estimated $15,000 or 25% more per average household would re-circulate in Sonoma County. That’s $2.3 billion every year!
To help you start localizing some of your spending, we’re offering all GO LOCAL rewards members 10% savings when they shop at Stony Point Rock Quarry and Soiland Company’s two other locations: Grab N’ Grow Soil Products in Santa Rosa, and Soils Plus in Sonoma. Supporting your local economy and saving money is easy, just show your GO LOCAL rewards card at the counter when you purchase soil, compost, mulch, or aggregates from any of our three locations.*
